For a world ever more respectful of energy.

It’s all about people and planet. And making steps toward zero waste and zero pollution. We support a circular economy. It starts with reusing an existing building, respecting its original structure, and enhancing what was there instead of demolishing and rebuilding it. Measuring our impact on the world is so important at FirstName Bordeaux, we’ve partnered with BetterFly to review our hotel operations and see how we can measurably reduce our impact without affecting the quality of the customer and employee experience. First steps.

FirstName is multiplying its actions.

Reducing CO₂ emissions, lowering energy consumption, recycling as much as possible: at FirstName, this is not just a principle, it is a way of life.

To put this commitment into practice, numerous initiatives have been implemented: lowering the air conditioning temperature by one degree, favouring low-energy equipment, replacing mini-bars with shared kitchenettes, selecting locally designed or French-made items, striving for zero paper consumption… and, of course, obtaining the Green Key label.

This label, the first international sustainable tourism label, recognises establishments committed to a demanding and sustainable environmental approach. It is awarded each year to hotels and restaurants that meet strict and evolving criteria, guaranteeing continuous improvement. We are particularly proud of this recognition, as it rewards all our efforts at FirstName Bordeaux.

But what really makes the difference is the participation of our guests. Time’s up in the shower: everyone can reduce their water consumption thanks to an hourglass! Saving a few liters is a small gesture with a big impact.

A recognized commitment to sustainable tourism

FIRST NAME BORDEAUX is proud to hold the EU Ecolabel for “Tourist Accommodation” — an official recognition of our environmentally responsible practices.

This certification, issued by AFNOR Certification, confirms that our services comply with the European Commission Decision 2017/175/EU and the associated certification rules.

Certified features include the use of renewable energy sources, reduced water and energy consumption, waste reduction, and efforts to improve the local environment. These concrete actions reflect our commitment to offering eco-responsible stays without compromising on comfort or quality.

This label demonstrates our sincere dedication to preserving natural resources and acting for a more sustainable future, one stay at a time.
